327mag rifle

Dose any one know if any company will be coming out with a 327 mag rifle in lever action.It would be interesting to know if any one have it in the works.

ive been saying the same thing for quite a while . 327 fed would make a great lever gun or possibly 1 of those h&r break open single shots in 327 but I doubt we'll see either . I know marlin used to make a 32 h&r lever gun but there few and far between. the 327 fed mag was pretty much all but dead ,ruger did slightly revive it when they came out with the single seven .I personally liked the round ever since it came out in 2008 I bought 1 in a gp100 in 2009 then the 7.5 inch single seven last year . the 327 has a loyal group of followers but I doubt we'll ever see it in a carbine .

I have a 327 BH when it came out the 8 shot one.Like the gun and wish someone come out with a lever.

I want one bad. Been looking for one of the Marlins in 32 H&R but the price is sky high plus the conversion cost. The round isn't dead. All the Single 7s sold and Ruger is already out of some parts for them. Not really the greatest news. And the SP101 has been selling well. It would make a really handy carbine. Everyone owes it to themselves to shoot one.

I lucked into a Marlin 32 H&R and it is very nice. Was new in box, but not anymore. I have tried all my cast boolits and feeds everything fine, Even wad cutters. A lever gun in the 327 would be nice for the 327 shooters.

Higher chance of Ruger making that rifle than Marlin. I don't see them adding cartridges to Marlin's lineup any time soon.

I am saving my pennies for Encore rifle barrel 18" to shoot my 130 grain Mihec HP GC bullets they are really accurate from my converted 16-4 S&W. With the WW296 load I am thinking a velocity of 1675-1700 FPS.

I asked for a cartridge adapter for a 30-30 contender and was told by Ace Dubbe that the cartridge was over pressure for a contender.

Not for Encore though it should make a dandy little rifle. Now finding the right person to make it with the proper groove diameter.

How about something like a Savage Crackshot style single-shot? It would have to be pretty much of a new design, but it might be a nice, light little rifle to have. I'd like something like that for the huge woodchucks that seem to be hanging around behind my house this year.

Yes, a good bit more velocity. 32-20 loads should top out @ 16K pressure and the 327 is good for well over twice that. I'll SWAG you'll see a velocity increase of at least 400 fps over the 32-20, depending on powder and boolit choice of course.

Not gonna happen - the .327 is not popular enough for lever gun makers to consider making one. Gun makers make guns for the masses - not for those of us who "want one". Like TXGunNut said - 32-20 is a better bet.

I have a 32-20 and like it. Generally I keep it loaded close to the factory specs but use a 120 grain bullet. At about 1300 fps it is a handy cartridge. Loaded much hotter, it does not do what I want. There have been souped up loads for the 32-20 listed at about 1900 fps with a 115 grain cast bullet. Basically if I want something hotter I will use a 30-30 as the 336 carbine is little less handy than the 94 32-20. I guess if you are into the rifle/pistol thing the 327 would be a good bet, but it really is limited in use in a rifle. A 357 rifle is a better choice for small game/deer.

So if gun makers make guns for the masses that must mean the masses want it because they are making 327 Federal firearms. For how long nobody knows. Marlin had a good track record of offering chamberings in special runs at a minimum. All it would take is one distributor to decide they want to sell one.

Both Marlin and Ruger offered special runs but Marlin is now operated by Remington and I suspect those days are gone. Getting a 357 Marlin at this time requires buying used and paying a very high price as they have not made any runs of these. In some ways it would be a good offering for Rossi as they are not making traditional calibers in their 92 carbines. It might kind of make another popular offering?? We are kind of a special group, and what we might want is not necessarily reflective of a market appeal.
When cowboy shooting started both (I am old enough to remember things like that) Marlin and Ruger jumped in to offer a 44-40. One would think it would have been both traditional and popular. Seemed it was more profitable to go back to the standard calibers in 44 mag and 45 Colt and they dropped the 44-40. Actually the 45 Colt would have not been made in a rifle had it not been for the Cowboy shooters who seemed to want them over the 44-40. There was some early controversy in permitting a combination that never existed in the frontier. It also seemed to kick off a renewed interest in the rifle/pistol interchange. When I was younger, one carried a pistol and a rifle. The rifle was a rifle caliber like the 30-30 or a bolt action.
I have not seen an overwhelming offering of the 327 Federal in handguns in the LGS so I doubt if it would be offered in a rifle.

From what I know of that Ruger came back out with a 327 handgun in a SP101.I had one store ask em If I was looking for one since I have the BH and if I do let him know.But he told me that someone will some time be coming out with a rifle but it will take time. As for that one the guy ask if I like one I past on it.If there was a lever gun he ask me about then that would be something I would of jump at to get it.
