The wife loves both of those. Got to make that up for me, er, her.
Oh NO ! Another great idea and so easy . Can't let my daughter see this , just more justification to eat ice cream .
Never had or heard of Muskmelon, what is it? Looks good though!
I bought 2 cases of fresh tree ripened Colorado Peaches last week, tell ya what, in cobbler form, warm, with a scoop of vanilla...... I can die a happy man after that!

A cantaloupe from the store is usually under ripe, and the flesh is hard and tasteless.
A muskmelon on the other hand is home grown picked when the flesh is at its peak of flavor and is soft and juicy. The vanilla ice cream is what brings out the best of the melon.
It is one of best parts of summer.

That look on your face, when you shift into 6th gear, but it's not there.
With the record breaking rain here, muskmelons were one of the only things our garden produced. I am the only one in the family that likes them. I have been eating 3-4 a day for the last couple weeks. I will miss them when they are gone.

But Girty likes her muskmelon filled with oats as she believer ice cream is bad for her beautiful teeth.

Sounds super good, but another combo I can vouch for is good ripe watermelon served with ginger ice-cream!
I split apples and core them a light sprinkle of fruit fresh then a light coat of cinnamon honey and melted butter. The a couple hours in the smoker with low heat and heavy smoke. Family loves them with a scoop of ice cream on them.
muskmelon and cantaloupe are the same thing just different name based on where you live. Old folks around here put salt on them
Lunch is often half a cantelope filled with cottage cheese. Good combination even for a diabetic.

After Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla became available here , I never made another gallon of ice cream.....it tasted better than any recipe I had ever tried. And I'm an ice cream addict/connoisseur , at one time I had three different ice cream freezers and used them all....no more , Blue Bell ice cream shut my operations down. A Black Berry Cobbler flavor is out....got to get some ASAP !The proper way to eat that is with homemade ice cream you know. You should be ashamed of using a store bought substitute.

Blue Bell Blackberry cobbler ice cream ?
It's a seasonal flavor and last year it tasted like chunks of a good blackberry cobbler , with a good crust , swirled into a gallon of homemade vanilla ice cream....I liked it and going to get some more .
