Stealth Range Cam Wireless Camera and Monitor

What do you think of the Stealth Cam Range Cam, 2.4ghz wireless camera and b/w monitor. It comes with infrared emitters on the camera for low light situations and transmits up to 100 yards. The 5" black and white monitor comes with built in receiver. Battery or AC powered with adapters for both camera and monitor. It says " From sighting in your gun and game scouting, to real time surveillance, the range cam will visually enhance all of your monitoring and security needs." The package shows that it can be set up for target shooting and determine accuracy instantly on the viewing monitor. It also allows you to survey wildlife or hunting locations anytime of the day or night. Can be used to monitor children's outdoor activities or as security for home, construction job sites or hunting camps.

    Worth a try?

They sell them at Sportsmens Guide for $89.95. Also see one on Craigslist for $50. At those prices I would be skeptical.

2.4 GHz is limited to line of sight - in other words if your monitor's antenna can't visually see the Camera's antenna it won't receive good signal to give you a good picture.

I use a 2.4 GHz camera and with my transmitter/receiver it will do 400-500 yards with rubber ducky antenna and if I change to a larger yagi antenna which is directional I can go beyond 1000 yds.

That could be useful in the woods with a 1000 yard range.
