And here I thought the thousand pounds I finally finished pouring into six pound ingots, two hundred pounds per batch was just a good start.

Some folks are working on their first ton of lead stash, some are working on their second ton......... Then there are those that have enough that the mass of their stash creates a gravitational anomaly for satellites orbiting earth.

And yes I was working off of the OP's stated intention to use the ingots shown in a 50/50 mix. Thus they represented 2x their weight in usable alloy. We are talking between 3,500 and 4,500 boolits at 158 - 124 grain cast from 80#. Should allow OP to spend at least a bit of range time. Call it 17.5 to 22.5 range trips at 200 rounds per trip. Which is a fair to middling amount of shooting time for a revolver but more of a brief trip with an auto loader.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

How does one make half a range trip? I would think it would just be a trip that's half as long.

80 Lbs is better than no pounds.
