its too bad it all has to go to the scrapyard.!
its too bad it all has to go to the scrapyard.!
Or is it to get it gunned to find out alloy content?
Construction contract states, all scrap money goes back into the budget.
Dang. If I only lived closer. What a treasure trove.
A muzzle loader's wet dream.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
Yeah...No kidding. Scrap rates for lead is cheap lead.
I am sure a couple of bricks will be adopted by me. The stack of four pallets in the picture is just a drop in the bucket. 50 tons is in the estimate to be removed.
That's a lot of lead!
Sounds like a "Group Buy" to me.
Slim
JUST GOTTA LOVE THIS JOINT.
$50k at scrap price would be about right.
That is the nice thing about being the one in charge on the construction sites.
I decide what is scrap and salvagable.
That all looks contaminated to me.
You better re smelt it just to be sure.
You would hate yourself if you sold the scrapyard Contaminated lead.
Tell them the only true test for contamination is to send it flying thru the air at about 1000FPS.
And it is going to take a LOT of testing before you are positive it is clean enough to salvage.
these have about 1% antimony in them.
which makes them perfect to fling through the air at 2,800-3,000 fps when wrapped in copper.
I have a couple of these little bricks already and really would dearly love to have another 5-600 pounds.
I'm thinking Johnny Cash and a big lunch box. If that job last very long someone should end up with a "Lifetime Supply". Just saying!
The score you can't have is like the one that got away. Sad!
If I lived to be older than yoda I'd never use that much!
At a minimum follow it to the scrap yard and make an offer on a bunch!
Well when I started my second job they had these three 65,000 fresh water storage tanks for the fire system. Two of them were in the process of being torn down and were lead lined with 1/8 lead sheeting. Funny thing was that after the contractor left for the day, the lead pile would shrink. Contractor came to where to the pump house where we stood our watches and accused us of stealing the lead. Both of us neither had cars so we had to walk the two miles to the train. When we cracked up in front of the guy he really lost it so we threw him out the door. The pump house was built pre WWII and had 3 foot reinforced concrete walls. Held the heat so well it sweated inside like a tropical rain forest. Frank
