Straight COWW, my scale only goes to 505 and .514.

Well, I think it is from COWW.
I've had three 50 cal ammo cans full following me since the late 80s.
I know some was COWW, some was smelted lead plumbing from a house mover, I know there is some Linotype in one of them, I remember scribing "Lino" on those...

    Snyd,
    Now you got me thinking.
I did some digging around and found the "Lino" scribed can of ingots.
Then I went to the hundred I cast a few days ago, scratched real easy with a fingernail.
I'm thinking it was straight plumbers lead that I cast these out of.
Now I'm gonna go back and re-cast these with some Linotype in the mix.
Thanks for jolting my memory .

But they look real good, don't they?

No prob, glad I could help!

Ya they look mighty fine. Another fine member here is sending me his to try out. I should have it any day. I've only cast with one other brass mould. .512 465 gr Keith style. I had a tough time casting with the brass mould. I just couldn't seem to maintain a steady castable temp. I'll give this one a go and see if I can get the temp thing figured out. I know lots of guys rave about brass but my first experience was a pain in the brAss!

You might want to contact this man after hunting up a few of his articles about various .500 revolvers and heavy bullets, including the .500 Linebaugh & Linebaugh Long/Maximum:

I've shot 22, 22.5, 23gr LilGun. pb solid weighs 530gr from my WW alloy. 22gr load avgs 1125fps from my 5.5 500 L. 19es 5 rnds. 23 gr is 1170ish if I remember. I'm gonna shoot a bunch of the 22gr load and see how it wrings out. 1125 is plenty and recoil is less than 450gr at 1300.
