I believe I am selling my AR

I just am having a hard time enjoying shooting the rifle. It does not feel tight, it feels like plastic. I cannot get a feel for the rounds I am shooting because recoil is about zero.
I have some bills to pay, ie a BCPR and some tires for truck. I already dont feel I will miss it. What say you fellas?
I do have a ton of brass, Dillon dies, a Lee FCD, about 7000 srp.

If you can stand to wait, you'll be able to get a lot more for it during the next gun-grabbing panic.

Yep. This is about the worst time to sell a black rifle, but a great time to buy.
The market is overstocked and prices are low.
After the next election, while Hillary is trying to decide which broom she'll fly to her inauguration, you might get three or four times what you'd get for it today.
Of course, you might be better off to lose it in a tragic boating accident.

you could wait until the next mass shooting when they try to ban them again.

AR15 rifles are the cheapest they been since the late 80s
friend bought a brand new no name rifle M4 style 16 inch for $550 at the gun show this past weekend.
Shoots great from what he said...

Agreed, about the worst time. I picked up a bunch of 80% lowers and parts kits just to finish as I find deals on uppers, which seem to be quite often. I figured if there is ever another run like the last one, guns, ammo, and reloading supplies are probably even better than cash.

I have to agree with the others. Now is not a good time to sell an AR. It wouldn't hurt to advertize it but I would't pay for an add unless you don't mind taking a low end price for it. If you really need to sell it now put it in the free adds for what you feel its worth to you. Never can tell.

Is it a factory rifle or one you built? If it's one you built it's like a modified vehicle, worth more in parts. Take it apart and sell it in pieces. If it's a factory rifle sell it for what you can get for it. The market is over saturated so you won't get top dollar.

Put a 458 Socom upper on top and it will change your perspective in several ways.

    I hope the 7000 isn't the price.

I'm guessing 7000 srp means 7000 small rifle primers

Sell your barrel and bolt and get a 50 beowulf barrel with a 7.62x39 bolt face.

    You'll feel the recoil.

It's worth more in parts. Few people want a rifle someone else pieced together.

Part it out. As said above, few will buy a home built AR...unless it was built in the home of Wilson, Baer, or other big name custom maker.

Honestly, I'd keep it. A functioning AR is a good thing to keep around.

On the flipside, now is the time to buy a couple bargain basement well known brand ARs. Sit on them, and reap the rewards during the next gun control scare.

Hold off on selling it. Get yourself a 300 blackout upper, or one of the big bores and enjoy it again. When the time comes sell the 5.56. I got board of mine as well, but love the 300 blackouts 50 Beo, and 9mm. The 9mm is super cheap to shoot, and suppresses better than the 300 blk. I SBR'd that one, and put a suppressor on it, and every time I take family to the range they ask me to bring it out.

If you buy a barrel in 300 blackout/whisper - it's the only thing you'll need to change and it will change the characteristic's of how the rifle shoots plus it's cast friendly cartridge and will use the 7k SRP you have on hand.

And all it takes to change back to 223 is doing the barrel change.

Lol, ask this group they say spend more money. Hey, you can do what I did when I needed new tires, and make a few bets. I made a bet a couple years ago with someone that I would get my deer in a week or I would give them my rifle. I did my homework first, and I roll new mud tires on my truck. Problem is I just added a new F-250 super duty 4x4, and those tires wont fit this one. Anyone here a gambling man?

The trouble with parting it out is that part prices are low so you'll take a beating there as well. I'd list it for trade locally and see if you could get something you like better or that has a higher resale value.
