Prayers for you and your loved ones. I had a similar diagnosis last year and the best I can say is to keep your hopes up and take it one day at a time.

When they did my first colonoscopy about seven year's ago ,they found pre cancerous polyps .They remove them with the scope. I am sure that probably saved my life in the long run.
I am wishing you the best .
Just be sure that they put you to sleep for the procedure. My son had one done in the UK and they did not put him to sleep.
He said never again.
Doctor is a cute lady in her fifties, my age, and made sure to let me know about her divorce.
I let her know about my wife driving me home after the procedure.
Mrs. Brass comes from a ranching family. She knows how to take a young bull's mind off *** and put it on gr*** where it belongs!
I'm not volunteering for that minor surgical procedure by straying!
Those ranch gals do have a way of taking care of business and clearing one's mind. You got a winner - and a keeper.
Being human is not for sissies.
Still praying for the best possible outcome for you and your family - not just you bud.

Well, I went in today being certain they would surgically remove the nodule on my thyroid, or even the entire thyroid.
First was a ultrasound of the thyroid this morning. Big nodule!
Next was a visit to Dr. T to check out the thyroid. Dr. T tells me that a lot more of these nodules are being detected due to new technology like CAT scans, etc. He say 30% of the people visiting the mall today likely have one, and almost all are benign and not a problem. Dr. T believes mine is benign and reports my thyroid is functioning normally per the lab results. Dr. T ordered a CT scan of my sinuses and an ultrasound guided fine needle to collect a sample of the nodule. Dr. T wants to check for signs of cancer in the nodule or any indication of sinus issues to be considered when all of the test results are in to decide which issues are likely to be causing the coughing issues.
Right now I am studying for the colonoscopy.
While waiting for the ultrasound, I got to visit with a Korean War veteran who spent 2 1/2 years as a POW. His unit started with 29 men and they only had one bandolier of ammo for their Garands to supplement their ammo belt pouches. When they ran out of ammo, they were down to 27 men. As a POW, he was taken to China and then Mongolia. The Chinese treated them very poorly. He did say the Mongolians treated them very well. He was the senior man in the unit.
What a man!
Just a few months ago someone near and dear to me had a large benign cyst removed from the thyroid. All went well, healing was quick and back to work in under a week.

So far so good, and I did remember to pray for you today while they were doing my test.
I'm off for the taste test in a few minutes.
I'll check back here later today with results.
Enjoy a clear field in Swapping & Selling. The VA will keep me away from PCs and smart phones!
Prayers for ya buddy. Sorry it took me this long to see the thread.
God Bless

Yes I can be long winded. Yes I follow rabbit trails. Yes I admit when I am wrong. Your mileage may vary.
Keep your powder dry. Watch yer Top knot.

You can have full fledged colon cancer before 50. My brother-in-law did. He was uninsured while owning his own business. He lost his business and applied for a job with the company he had the franchise with. They hired him and after one week on the job he ended up in the emergency room with colon cancer. Thankfully, his new job came with health insurance and they covered him. He responded well to chemotherapy after the surgery and he is doing well now.
They liked him so well on the job that he is still there!
Catching it as polyps would have been much better.
The testing is undignified, but far superior to the alternative!
I passed the taste test. No crappy after taste!
I woke up between the stomach scoping and the back side scoping, so I know they were done in the proper order!
All is normal inside.
