    lyman 323470 issues

Hey all I have a new (to me) lyman 323470 2cav mold that is giving me absolute fits!!! It just won't let go of the boolits. The alloy I am usuing is straight ww and I am getting perfect boolits all bands and based filled out 100% and the such. The damn mold just won't let go!!! I really have to beat the holy frog snot out of the handles to get them to pop out. I know that this is not normal. I have been over both cavs with a magnifing glass and I have not been able to detect any burrs or divits or any reason at all as to why the boolits won't drop. I've degreased the mold and scrubbed the hell out of it. I've smoked the mold. I've run the mold hot and cold. I can't figger this one out. any suggestions as to where I might start? I am clueless!!

Does the boolets stick in the same side all the time? If so, then

I just about bet that the cavities are not centered on the parting line. There's more boolet in one side of the mould than the other.

If this is the case, send it back to Lyman.

Sense we live just a few miles apart, maybe we should get together sometime.

What Jake said, unless there are burrs holding them in.

I keep a little mini screwdriver on my casting bench, and when the bullets stick, I give them a little pry out.

I had a mould which would not let go one time, so I drilled a pilot hole into a bullet, then I set a screw into the hole, and stuck the bullet in the mould......coated with a little lapping compound,, then I spun the bullet a few turns with the phillips point of an electric serewdriver.

Whatever was wrong, was not wrong when I was done.
