    30-40 Krag

I've had several 30-40's that were fond of Lyman 311291, linotype, sized 0.312", Alox/beeswax lube in all grooves, Lyman GC, seated to touch the rifling over 40 grains of IMR 4831 or MR3100, CCI LR standard primer.

My Krag shoots just about everything I put into it quite well. Since the throat is pretty worn, I seat the boolits as far out as possible. My rifle is sporterized and has a 24" barrel with a tiny bead sight up front and a peep sight in the rear. Most of my shooting is with pretty light loads and here are a few of my favorites:
These are all 5 shot groups and all boolits are sized .311.
Lee "soup can" 10 grains of Unique and it groups under an inch at 50 yards
Lee 155 grain bullet meant for the SKS 13.5 grains of 2400 for 2.5 inches at 100 yds.
    Lyman plain base 311241 13.6 grains of 2400 2 .5 inches at 100 yards
    Lyman 311375 13.6 grains of 2400 or 24 grains IMR4198 both go 2.25 inches at 100 yds.
    Lyman 311291 13.6 grains of 2400 2.75 inches at 100 yards, 22 grains of IMR4198 3 inches at 100 yards, 19 grains SR4759 3 inches at 100 yards
    Lyman 314299 13.6 grains 2400 2 inches at 100 yards, 31 grains 4064 2.25 inches at 100 yards
(the 314299 really works well with any powder I've tried. I think it's the best boolit for my rifle)
    RCBS 30-180-SP 13.6 grains of 2400 2.25 inches at 100 yards
RCBS 30-180-FP 33.6 grains of 4064 2.5 inches at 100 yards. This is my hunting load and one of the few I've chronographed. It's good for 1894 fps.
