    7.7 Arisaka

Hello people, i'm looking for a load for my 7.7 Arisaka utilizing recently acquired 200 grain hardcast with gas check. Mainlt used for target shooting at range but with an occasinal outing to pop pigs. Your input is appreciated.

    Uncle JI, Welcome!

The previous advice was good, but not just because those rifles, and the 6.5 Jap rifles were the strongest military bolt actions ever made, but because the 7.7 case and the 30-06 case are close dimentionally. Use 30-06 data and you can probably step on it just a bit safely.

Do you have a Chrono? A project like this almost demands one, to know your velocity will give you very important information. Only about 10 of each load are needed to establish speed and accuracy, so it's not a lot of shooting with each bullet, unless you buy lots of different powders!
