Redfield Sight -- what does this fit?

I recently acquired this, in a box (not a Redfield box), without any documentation. There are no identifying marks beyond the name Redfield that I can find. I'd like to know if it might fit anything I have or am likely to have. I've looked at pictures online and accomplished nothing.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Looks like it might fit the 98 Mauser.

I believe it is a olympic or international sight for the 03a3 or similar as it mounts on the right side of the reciever. Model 70 remingtons 721 722 and 700s ll mounted on the left side of the reciver. In its day it was state of the art for nra high power rifles.

    It's a Redfield M70 for a Mauser or Springfield.

Ditto: It's not a Olympic or International as they both mount on the left side of the receiver on a rail.

I have an Olympic on my #4 Mk1

Definitely a Right Hand Series 70 for a Mauser or Springfield.

I adapted one to my buffalo classic 45-70. Love it.

Thanks for the replies. Your answers mean I don't have a rifle to mount this on; any advice on how much to ask for it?

Look under the advanced search in ebay for your item you are trying to sell, and check the box that says "sold listings". This should give you a range of prices that the item has historically sold for and can help.

It should bring around $75. However you should hang onto it simply because sooner or later you will get a gun that needs it.
