    Something like that

Based on the posted guesses I think it is pretty well over priced for boolit making purposes, but thanks to all for their input!

It would be a fun little contest for bragging rights, maybe someone with a nice little collection can make one up!

One of these can be useful. http://www.harborfreight.com/digital-scale-95364.html Only $20 and it runs on batteries or wall plug so you can take it with you. With one of the 10 or 20 percent off coupons... very useful for mixing a batch of alloy in addition to pricing pewter.

For what it is worth since I'm normally buying a piece here or piece there I don't worry all that much about exact weight. If it is pewter and only a few bucks I'll probably buy it. Figure even $5 a lb. is cheaper than I can buy tin for elsewhere. Scale does come in handy at antique mart where prices tend to be higher than garage sales or thrift stores. Gets closer to not worth it unless heavy at antique prices.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.
