    8mm-06 with cast

Is anyone shooting cast boolits in a 8mm-06. I have plenty of jacketed data but very little cast data. I guess I could start with 8X57 or 30-06 data but I thought i would check here first.

With its slightly greater powder capacity compared to the 8 X 57, you'll be safe using your data for the 8 X 57. Expect slighty lower velocities for any given boolit weight and powder charge and an attendant reduction in chamber pressure with the 8mm-06 (8 X 63 in metric terms) on average compared to the 8 X 57 due to the expansion ratio difference.

    Keep your powder dry,

8 mauser data will be the same as 30-06 data, when they use the same weight boolit.
the 0-6 and the 308 do.
they get away with it because of gas volume, you just don't generate enough of it for everything to make that much difference.
I'm talking normal 1500-1900 fps loads here, not higher velocity higher pressure loads.
but even there i wouldn't have any trouble using 8 mauser data to get started in the 8mm-06.

Concur with both recommendations; using either 8x57 or 30-06 data for the same basic weight of cast bullets in an 8mm-06 will give safe results.
