    Question IDs and rim ODs for Lyman 310 tool Adapter Dies?

    As I have rooted about to make up a 41 S&W die set, I wondered if there is a list of IDs and rim ODs for the adapter dies?

    For instance, the #5 adapter die is listed for the .303 Savage. The .303 Savage is within a few thousandths in head OD and rim OD to the 41 S&W, so the #5 should work with the 41 S&W (41 Rem Mag)... Yet Lyman in their wisdom decided the #16 was the cat's buttocks... Why, I don't know.

    I'm confused... I looked at the COTW, and they have a useful list of cartridge dimensions,
