    Fluid Film

Hi, I happened upon this product by chance, and I was wondering if this could become a part of a good lube.

Fluid FilmŪ is a lanolin based rust / corrosion preventive and lubricant that provides long term protection and lubrication for all metal surfaces. Fluid FilmŪ locks out and displaces moisture while lubricating moving parts for extended periods of time. It will not be readily washed off with water, but creates a barrier of protection that continues to work even in the most corrosive of environments. Fluid FilmŪ is the worldwide standard for corrosion protection and lubrication.

FLUID FILM is formulated from specially processed wool-wax, highly refined petroleum oils and selected agents to provide corrosion control, penetration, metal wetting and water displacement. These long lasting products contain no solvents, will not dry out and will penetrate to the base of all metals, providing corrosion protection from both natural and industrial atmospheres. Heavily corroded and/or frozen parts such as nuts, bolts, shafts, etc. that would normally be damaged during maintenance, can be salvaged by applying FLUID FILM.

Why do you think it could become a part of a good lube? And if you did, what would the percentage in the lube would you use?

It's a rust/lubricant for metal and doesn't even stack up to Eezox. I did a comparison test of both products
Read the Fluid Film MSDS sheets!

It is an excellent lubricant around the shop....does not attack rubber and contains no nasty silicone or TFE. All natural.

Not in a boolit lube. Too watery. Too thin. If you want lanolin, buy it from RandyRat on here.

This stuff as been around since the 1940's!

Have you tried doing a search on here for it?

It has been discussed a few times before on Cast Boolits that I recall.

    I like the stuff.

Love Fluid Film. Never thought to use as a bullet lube and probably never will.

We have a similar product here in Australia called Lanox. I use it for case resizing. A light spray over cases and every fifth case as a cotton bud soaked in Lanox run around the neck.

i do use pure anhydrous lanolin which is a thick paste as part of my pan lube.

I asked the question about using it for sizing operations, but I never broke down and bought it.

I bought a DR Field & Brush Mower, and Fluid Film is the recommended lub by them for much of this machine. I could not seem to find it locally, so I ordered a couple of cans from DR. They no longer seem to purvey the stuff, but much to my surprise Amazon.com does. It is indeed a great product, and I've never used it "indoors" -- but it surely seems worth a try. Thanks.

Why not just use it as a sizing lube?

    Fluid Film

I love Fluid Film once I heard of it and started trying it on stuff....including may hands! I wondered about adding it to a lube, but had my doubts. I have used it as sizing lube for small batches, and it was fine.

Well..........did you buy some? Very inexpensive. Great stuff. I do NOT use it for lube for boolits or casings, but a lot of other apps around the shops and house.

That tells us nothing as you don't have a location listed.

East Bay Area, CA, it is available in spray cans at both Lowe's and Autozone.
I also got a small brush can via EBay. I think the seller was zorotools.

Just bought an 8oz can on eBay for $7.42, free shipping, plus sales tax. Let's see how it does. Thanks Sekatoa.
