BEST LUBE BRAND..... old label. anyone remember this one???

I have a couple of old sticks of wonderful lube.
Silver paper, top says, "BEST LUBE"
Next line is: All Climate Instant Bullet Lubrication

Middle says: Positively Stops Leading and Clean Burning

Bottom is very cut off, mice nibbled the bottom of the wrapper.....

    Forrest Sp....... (unreadable)
SHANDA....... (unreadable) Appears to be: Shandaken, New York

Does anyone have any info on this lube, who made it, and what the rest of the label says?????

The lube seems to be a mix of Alox/bees wax/and some special ingredients. Rather soft, even after all these years.
My guess is that it was made maybe in the 60's, 70's and 80's........

    Pretty Please?

    Oooooooo UPDATE:

    I did some Googling............

    http://www.castbulletassoc.org/forum...66&forum_id=16

Roy seems to have the spelling of the guy's name wrong: The correct spelling off the tube is: FORREST

Roy suggests it was made until the 60's.

Will have to check with him for update. I really wanna try to get a clean and clear label......
If we can duplicate this formula somehow, it'll need a proper right paper label, looking like the original.

I sent you an email last night.

A Dr Forrest George (age approx 64) lives and practices medicine in the Albany area.
That's not all that far from where your mentor made his lube.

You might call the telephone number I provided, and inquire. You might get a copy of the exact original recipe!!

Stranger things have been known to happen.

    BTW, Roy....

Could I get a pristine label from a tube????

I have the technology to reproduce em, which would be better (in my opinion) than just wrapping in alum foil.

The two I scrounged from your old barn were seriously chewed on by rodents.

    UPDATE:

We managed to replicate the old Best Lube recipe, and I hereby submit it for your reference. The group of shooters I hang with, including out friend, Roy, have made several batches at this point, of our version of Best Lube. Roy swears that it's virtually the same as he remembers. And, most importantly, it mirrors the performance of the original. It's all we have been shooting with our Lawnsteel game, and all other cast boolits we have been casting/sizing/ lubing.

I give you Best Lube. RECIPE FOR BEST LUBE CLICK FOR PDF FILE

Ivory soap is required but is not mentioned in the ingredients list. What quantity of ivory soap is required?
