    St. Croix fly rods

Anyone fish a St Croix rod?
I'm looking for something made in USA that won't break the bank.
    Thanks.

I have four St. Croix Imperial fly rods in 3wt and 4wt and a 8ft 4wt Legend Ultra. I have a lot of rods to use, but will grab my 8' or 9' 4wt. Imperial 90% of the time, for trout fishing. If you read any reviews, the Imperials always seem to get rated as the best mid-priced fly rod. For some interesting reading about them, Google up George Anderson Yellowstone Anglers 5 Wt. Shootout, or 8 Wt. Shootout.
    Get out there and fish!

Before you criticize another man, you should walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you'll be a mile away from him, . . . and you'll have his shoes.

I have an 8wt 2pc which is great. Lots of backbone for stripers. The rest of mine (2pc & 4pc) are TFO - great quality and good rods. Not 'made in USA' but really good. Don't know where St Crox is made now.
    Whatever!

St. Croix fly rods offer 95% of what the best, most expensive rods offer at half the price. I own several more expensive rods but can't really say with any honesty that they are significantly better. If you are on a budget and still want a very good fly rod, St. Croix is the way to go.
