My average went from Near $8 to a liitle over three last year. Still better than the coon market currently is. It's gonna be a tough market until the Russian buyers get back in.
$8 ain't real bad in today's time. When is the last time you seen straight runs for $8?
May you hands be warmed on a frosty day.

The $8 average was two years ago. Today the same rats are selling for $2.50 if you can find a buyer. It looks to be a tough market for at least a couple years.

I had no idea that the prices were that low on rats. Is there anybody that will buy them in the round in your area? I realize that they are so easy to skin, scrape and stretch, but just wondering?

I put all my fur up so I do not worry about if i can move them.I have seen in the past that they where about what is stated ,it is a tough year all around. But I do it for a hobby and like to do ,so it works for me.The ones that dose not put up there own fur will be the ones that get hurt the most.I had the game warden down yesterday to tags 2 of my otters and he said there is really hardly anyone out there trapping now for how the price of fur is.He said there is just the real hardcore trappers like me that is out there.

I was talking to one of the guys I use to work with and he told me that coons hides were at about $3.00 at the buyer he goes to. Coyotes were at $3.00 - $4.00 unless there were skinned, then they might bring $7.00 - $9.00, maybe a little more if the bellies were very white. Things sure have changed since I was trapping and buying hides. Good luck folks.
