Me too. I knew he had numerous rough patches the last few years, but I really thought it was turning around for him.. I always liked his stories, and he helped me personally on more than one occasion.

We lost a good one here. Bruce was so helpful to me when I wanted to develop loads for a 416 Rigby. He had "been there and done that" on so many things. He will be missed. Rest in peace Bruce.

I learned this morning from Curmudgeon Bill of Bruce's passing. I have had the extreme privilege to share the fields and waters in the United States and Canada with Bruce and Bill, and the sadness felt by his passing is tempered with the many good memories of fishing, hunting, campsites shared, heat, wind, and cold endured, the fine shots taken and the tight lines well-fought. 'So long' for now, friend--I know you're just scouting ahead.
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

This is the saddest news I've heard all year.
Too bad his last years were so full of trouble. Bruce was a true hero and he told stories of amazing deeds from the first person perspective. I always hoped I could make it out west and meet him.

At least I know he went where I'm going, and "we'll be together again up yonder in a little while."
I'm overjoyed to know that right now he's got both his legs back and he's probably climbing a snow covered hill with a fine rifle on his back.

Good bye Bruce. The world will be a little less adventurous, and a little more ordinary for the duration.

My condolences to his family. I wish I would have taken the time to meet him when I was in that part of the country.

I never had the chance to meet him in person, but was always lifted emotionally by his posts and contributions.

What a great man. How many of us can honestly say that we have given much more than we have received.

RIP Bruce You are in the Lords arms now.

I had the privilege to see first hand, how Bruce's personality, and then trials and tribulations, brought a very fine group of men together.
I also got to see a few of those men show a selfless side, that we don't see too often anymore.
Bruce was a huge part of this group, and will leave a huge void with his passing.

Goodbye Bruce - we'll see you on the other side...

I am saddened. Bruce was a gentleman who gave of his time and experience freely, a truly great gift. He addressed others respectfully and seldom showed anger or displeasure. May God hold him in the palm of his hand.
