when you order a mild from accurate and the band diameter on the drawing say's .380
does this means that he makes the mold to throw a bullet with the diameter of .380 or this .380 will give you a bullet of let say . 378 after the lead has shrink

The diameter shown on the drawing is just for rough reference. The boolit diameter you get is the diameter you specifically ask for when you order. I cut it the way you want it.
It's not the mold cavity diameter. I make that adjustment myself to create your desired boolit diameter.
If a different lead alloy is used you will get a different diameter boolet than what Tom made the mould with in mind like WW for instance.Robert
if I get it correctly and I specify .378 with WW I should get a bullet dropping with .378 diameter give and take
The way I have done it with GREAT success -- Tom @ Accurate is super! -- is, on the order form, fill in the alloy you plan on using, firearm it is for, and of course the bullet desired. For whatever reason, my bullets always seem to shrink a bit (as do my shirts about my belly, but that's another challenge) -- so, I specify that as well (not re the shirts). I have five Accurate molds, and each is right on the money re size. Tom does SUPERB work!!!
geo
wish you good luck with you shirts
so if I wish to re size at .377 I should put when building my mild on Tom ordering sheet .378
this way my bullet will need very little resizing or none
yes give or take.
you could order the mold with a +- .0015 tolerance or just a + or- tolerance.
this means it will pour right close to your asked for diameter [and a little alloy adjustment will get you super close] +-
or you can get it to pour a little small - or a little large + with a certain alloy.
great
want to make certain I don't make a mistake
thanks Canuck
Send Tom an e-mail explaining exactly what you want as an end product and he will tell you what to order !

I look to the Heavens and say a "Large THANK YOU" every time I order an Accurate mold from Tom for his patience in helping people that aren`t exactly sure about what they do want in a mold.Robert

this is why I asked on the site before flooding him with E-mail…. after all better keep him concentrated on his work in order that he will keep us happy with outstanding moods
I've only ordered one mould from Tom but I doubt my results are unusual. I told him what size boolit I wanted and what alloy I would be using and the results are closer than I can measure. Boolit just barely touches the sizer. No need to build in a fudge factor unless you will be experimenting with alloys.

just wheel weight
when I want to size them a certain dimension I order a .001-.002 larger than I want to size to
hope that helps
