I would first check the dovetail in the Rossi. Notice that it has a screw to tighten it down. At least mine does. Checked with other sight bases to make a plug as I drilled mine for a Weaver receiver sight and they were a bit small. As to that sight, a peep sight should be closer to the eye. Mine has improved 100% with the Williams 5D I installed.

I have that exact site on my .454. It works excellent but I also installed a green front site. Even with my olllld eyes it works. Can't beat a ghost ring & the double ring seems to really focus your eyes but still allows 2 eye field of view sight.

    It fit with no problem.

I tried one of those sights a couple of years ago. I never could get used to using it. Maybe I'm getting old, but that double-arperture sight picture didn't work out for me and I went back to a standard receiver sight (Williams).

how would you see the target behind that?

I think I'd stick with a rear peep sight too.

ID:	140068That is an interesting arrangement - first time I've seen that concept. I too have that "Old Eye" syndrome so I went with an aperture sight from Steve's Gunz. This arrangement gives me a longer sight radius and has improved my # of hits.

Try it, you will be amazed how well it works & it is very accurate for a large ghost ring. And I don't even have stock in the co.

I think I'd have to see one in person before I made up my mind.

I was just shooting my Rossi 92 today. It's stainless with a stainless Skinner Peep on it. Works perfect with the stock front brass bead.

15 minutes with a small file and it went right on.

Nice thing about it is you can buy different apertures for it if you like, although I like it best with it wide open.

............This on my Rossi 45 Colt rifle is about as good as a 1X scope. Works for me.

I use a marbles semi-buckhorn on my Rossi. My groups dropped in half when I replaced the original rear with it way back when.

Buckshot . . . I like your setup . . . Is it adjustable for windage? Where did you get it? And cost? I'd like something like that on my Rossi .454 model 92. Thanks

    Paralaska,

It's a Marbles tang sight and yes, it's click adjustable for windage. For the Rossi M92 you're wanting:

    Rossi 65 New 1892 009807 995002

009807 is the sight number and 995002 is the number for the mounting screws.

    Marbles web addy is: http://www.marblearms.com/standardPeepTang.html

If you can find one, a Taurus tang sight also works well, and is a lot less expensive. I found one in a LGS a couple of months ago, I think Taurus has discontinued them. But they're still out there.

The full buckhorn by Marbles is a good choice as it works like a ghost ring for quick sight acquisition with the horn tips almost touching to form a "ring" but still has the notch for fine work.

That double ghost ring that you like has a good following with the CAS SASS crowd and is a good choice. I think there is 2 of that design one for octagon barreled rifles and another for round barrel carbines. Checkout Steve'sGunz web sight he carries them both and may be a little cheaper than Marbles direct.

I have a couple of them on leverguns that are not D&T'd for either tang or receiver sights. I like them very much but have only used them for a few range trips. I don't know if the Rossi has a standard rear dovetail or if Marble makes one to fit. They give me a quick and accurate sight picture and a good view of the target, probably even perform well in low light hunting situations.

I put a Skinner on my Rossi and I love it. Just what my old eyes needed. Neet and professional looking, a breeze to install. Now off to the range. I have a load to work up ! lol
Thanks, all you guys, for your input.
