    Jacket making?

Hey everybody, I'm a longtime lurker. I was wondering about the jacket making process. What equipment is needed etc. Haven't been able to find much info on the net.
    Thanks

    Leadpecker:

You will need to define what type of material you want to use in making your jackets:

    (1) spent rifle or pistol brass cases (22LR being what you see most often - but also centerfire cases used)
    (2) copper tubing
    (3) sheet copper or brass

Once you know your material, then "The Search Engine is Your Friend". Start looking for that type of jacket making equipment. There are numerous articles on this site and others to read for each type.

I recently received one of BTSNIPER's jacket making dies for .308 using 5/16 copper tubing. I am in the process of learning and developing personal techniques for using this die to make jackets for the 168/175 grain range. Following are a few links on this site you might find interesting. (You can find BT Sniper listed as a VendorSponsor at: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?111 There are several threads in his sponsor section on his Brass Rifle/Pistol case jacket dies and also copper tubing jackets.)
