    Unofficial C.Sharps image thread

Just showed up the other day. Had to wait almost 5 months.

It's 40-70SS and "fancy" wood. Oh yeah, it's a HighWall. Single trigger (pull gauge says 2.5lb). Half octagon, half round barrel. MVA tang sight. and the wood looks better in person.

Can't wait to see what that and the case capacity do compared to my 40-65.

Got out to sight it in and see what the sight settings look like and maybe get a glimpse of what kind of accuracy it might have.

Wasted a whole day shooting on a crowded range with a couple of clowns for spotters. So went back today and was alone. Blessed if that ain't a joyful thing.

It's going to work with RCBS 300 CSA bullets and 5744 at what I hoped would be black powder velocities. Turns out 23.0 grains produced an average of 1375fps over a number of 5 shot groups. The average maximum velocity spread was 20fps and SD averaged 7fps. I would expect black to be around those numbers, but time will tell.

I played around with front sight inserts. Some are just worthless with my eyes. My club buffalo shoots use plates. 16X24 and 16x16 are the big ones. I setup a couple at 200 and started fiddling with the fronts. It was going great when I noticed I was down to 8 cartridges. So I repainted the big plate and did a 5 shot group. It rang 5 times, but looked like 3 through the spotting scope. I'm hoping the 350s will do better.

Interestingly enough, another thread popped up a few days after this one in which the OP was trashing C.Sharps for being mean to him. I didn't get that in my dealings.

And I got the rifle pictured a week ago after ordering it some months ago, just before Christmas. The end of 2014.

Great cartridge, and they build a good rifle. I have 5 Shilohs, 1 C Sharps a 75 in 22 LR great rifle and it is my 22 BPCR silhouette comp Rifle. You can not go wrong with American made, and if an issue, they will take care of it.
