    The Cubans converted a few of the Winchesters to 9mm and selective fire fed by Artillery luger snail drums and I suppose standard luger pistol mags as well.
    A 1907 in .40S&W would make for an excellent police patrol carbine.
    the 1907 is balanced for a 180 at 1900 fps. I have one, and it is a lot more gun than any 40 "short and weak".

    My Marlin Camp 9 NFA Registered short barrel rifle uses a Bowers CAC 9 with the Correct Colt 9mm thread of 1/2x36. Barrel is 6 inches long.

    To be Hollywood quite I made a mod of the bolt handle by cutting another shoulder that locks the bolt closed. The action is harder than the handle so I bought a couple of new handles from GPC. Have not needed them after over a thousand shots.
