when comes to the magic 7's ie7 gr of powder loads, Herco, 800x, unique, all will work well. The 800x loads with 220 ish can go to 12 gr, Paco not with standing, the Herco loads can go up to 13.5 gr and Unique can go to 10 gr., Glad to know about the WSF may need it in the future. At one time Since I never shot heavier than 220-240 gr I had one powder, 800x. Now because I have a big wildcat .41 Redhawk, I do shoot up to about 260 gr but not with the shotgun powder. But I have killed deer with a 285 gr SSK mold in a 6" Dwa with 10 gr of 800x load. That is not a recommendation. Currently I am using HS6 in my .41 with a 225 gr HP Keith from an NOE mold. I use the starting load from Hogdons as that is more than enough for my 4 5/8" Blackhawk, which is my companion to my 16.5" .41 HENRY
As to my bullets I can go from 198 hpgc to210gr cup point, 212 pentapoint, to 230 lfn all from a group buy Mia mold, to 240 gr Lee swc. 237 gr hp Keith to 237 solid Keith, 237 gr big HP, 252gr cup to 258 WLn from an NOE ,,210 gr Lee tumble lube, 255gr WLNGC Mountain mold. 12 I reckon that is enough. I just need a few more .41s

WSF is a powder that seems to be often overlooked. In mid range 41's it works well and in hot 45ACP revolver loads it works really well, think 250 grain 45ACP pin loads!

Is that what you call mould "pour" ha ha ha. I have one SSK 300 double. Never been heated up. Two Lyman 410459 doubles. I run both of these when casting, 4 cavities are to heavy. One RCBS 210 grain. This one never shot to well in my model 57. Then the 6 hole .411 Ranch Dog gc. This is a fine casting mould, and the slugs shoot very good.
So, I dont have as big a problem as you apparently do, maybe you should go to one of the moulds anonymous meetings?

I should explain-- the MIA mold has pins, and makes 4 different bullets
the tow NOE molds have pins and each make 3 different bullets -- so from 3 different molds I can make 10 different bullets- I do have 5 different molds hence the 12 different bullet

I recently got back into the .41 game with a 4-5/8" NM Blackhawk, and I've been on a loading frenzy ever since. I've been a handgunner for 50 years, and have had several S&W 57s in the past, but now just down to the SA. My 65 year old eyes don't do so good at 25 yds anymore, so I shoot iron sights at 10 yds to limit my own error. But some of my other handguns have red dot sights, which I shoot at 15 yds and longer. I don't even think my bullets "go to sleep" at 10 yds, because most of my 15 yd groups aren't any bigger, and some are even smaller with the red dots. Here are some of my better loads:

    ------ BULLET ----------- POWDER---- CHARGE ---- O.A.L. ---- 10-shot Group ---
    Berry's 210 Plated -------- 700x ------- 7.0 gr ----- 1.505" --------- 1.6"
    Berry's 210 Plated -- Ultimate Pistol -- 7.0 gr ----- 1.505" --------- 1.4"
    GT 175 RNHP cast ------- Unique ----- 6.8 gr ------ 1.485" --------- 1.7"
    Kelley's 212 SWC -------- Unique ----- 6.1 gr ------ 1.510" --------- 1.1"
(The 4 loads above are seated to crimp on the start of the ogive.)

    GT 240 gr Keith ----------- #7 -------- 11.6 gr ----- 1.685" --------- 1.6"
    Western 213 HP cast --- Longshot ---- 8.6 gr ------ 1.675 ---------- 1.6"

    Hunting Load:
    Kelley's 212 SWC ------ Longshot ---- 10.5 gr ----- 1.605" --------- 0.8"

I have a bunch more stuff loaded up, and will post new data as I get to the range.

I have heard from a friend who should be in a position to know for certain, that Federal and Winchester will be releasing their pistol bullets as components. Not any cast in .41 but the 175gr Silvertip and 240gr PTHP would cover a lot of ground. If it happens.

Here are some more recent deep seated loads:

    ------ BULLET ----------- POWDER---- CHARGE ---- O.A.L. ---- 10-shot Group ---
    Berry's 210 Plated -------- HP38 ------- 7.9 gr ----- 1.505" --------- 1.2"
    GT 175 RNHP ----------- Longshot ----- 9.7 gr ----- 1.485" --------- 1.5"

He stated that the revolver was in his opinion, 95%. He stated that the only reason he didn't give it a 100%, was that other people opinions may vary from his. He ad fired approximately 450 rounds through it. He stated finish and grips are excellent.
My total price paid is 720.00 including shipping. So, did I do ok, or not?
littlejack, it doesn't really matter what you paid for it. If YOU are happy with it that is what counts not what "Well I got mine for a lot less than that BLAH, BLAH,BLAH". Get so sick and tired of hearing that from people whenever I or someone else buys something they have wanted and finally get a chance at and the first thing the "experts" want to do is rain on your parade. Have fun with your new purchase and report on it. Crack on!

    AMEN DON!

If the price is right when you buy it, the price is RIGHT!

Sometimes you get smokin' deals, sometimes you pay a little premium, but 95% of the time you pay market price.

If you bought it, it was the right price for you, and that's all that matters. Besides it's a 41 mag how could you go wrong.

Oats have a certain value. Good, clean, well harvested and well handled oats cost a certain price. Oats that have already been through the horse are usually cheaper. A lot of times you get what you pay for.............

I'm working with a NEI 185 grain round nose. Really nice for double action practice loads in the snubby and hopefully gonna be a soft lead humdinger in the .41 caliber 1858 Remington.

Been watching the number of .41 Magnums on GunBroker diminish rapidly over the last couple of months....and the prices going up especially for S&Ws... But even common 6.5" Blackhawks are now bringing over $500 used... Can't tell you the last time I saw a .41 Magnum for sale in a gun store...not since the Ruger Hunter and a Bisley I found in two different shops the same day back in maybe January...

There isn't even a Charter Arms snubbie for sale...

Anyone seeing any .41s around where they live?

    Bob
