Version 2 of the spreadsheet is available.
I spent the day inputting more data and now there are almost 290 cast and 175 jacketed loads.

Please PM me here through castboolits system instead of through Tap-A-Talk so I can keep track of requests better.
If you requested the first version I have already sent you the V2.

I have printed out a few copies. Drop me a PM with your address if you want one.

Got to cast with a friend last week...one of the bullets was a MeHic TruShot .41/265 grain solid... Loaded it along with some 0f the gas chcked version with pentapoint weight 256 grains over 21.0 grains of H110. Velocity from a 5.5" barrel should be in the mid 1300s...

    ...have a happy casting season!!

Wow those ought to leave a mark.
Bet they'll really whack whatever you shoot!

If anyone has a Ranch Dog 265 load using 2400 I sure would appreciate it if you could share it.

I compiled almost all the loads in this thread and many others into the spreadsheet but there is nothing like what I am looking for as most of the 265 grain 2400 loads are max loads.

I'd like to use 2400 to push them about 1000 fps.

    Thanks.

41...my experience with 2400 using it for less than max loads is that it leaves a LOT of unburned powder behind.

Just happened into my first 41 Mag. I wanted to develop a decent magnum load and a 41 "Special" load using magnum brass. No surprise on the magnum load; AA9 did the best combination of accuracy, velocity, and consistency with what I tried. I had replaced Unique with Power Pistol some years ago for all of its applications so I just tried one PP load to see what it would do in the 41. At 7.9 grains, 215 cast SWC it averaged 1079 with an extreme spread (slowest shot difference to the fastest shot) of 22 FPS across 10 shots while printing under 1.5" groups @ 25 yards. I did not do the gun justice as I am convinced it could go under one inch if I could do better on the iron sights. Revolver is a 5.5" Redhawk.

Nice...had a 5.5" Redhawk many years ago. Just replaced it last year with one of the 4.2" guns... Probably the toughest DA .41 made...

That's an awesome gun to happen into. My birthday/Christmas present this year was a 5.5" Redhawk 41. Just got word my cylinders (got both the RH and the BH reamed) are on their way back from Doug. Just need to find time to load up some boolits now.

Like RJM said, welcome to the 41er cult.

Thanks Bob and Highway41. I used the term happened into because I had 3 of the same model of 22 rifle the guy wanted to trade for. It was ideal for me as he included the original box for the Redhawk, a set of Lyman carbide dies, a shell holder, about 800 cast bullets, 6 boxes of 210 JHP bullets, and about 120 pieces of brass. This made adding another caliber much simpler. I did order another 500 pieces of Starline brass that should be here this week. Should be good to go for a while with the brass. Now I am watching NOE sales notices for a good 41 mold........

I highly recommend the 250g WFN It shoots like a dream in all my .41's from the high velocity GNR and 414SM as well as from the Mag and Special. Lots of bearing surface there on that one.

I've been playing with the Lee 195gr SWC & the 210gr SWC TL.
So far they are not bad.

I've got the 210 tl and the 240 tl Lee molds. Hoping to get some cast up soon and see how the BH and RH like them.

I tumble them then stand them on their bases for a day while the lube sets up so I won't rub any off the bearing surfaces. So far in my limited testing they shoot well.

There is a thread on powder coating bullets here in our forum. I've read it several times & though I haven't tried it, it seems pretty straight forward & not too complicated. There is even a thread of pictures of powder coated bullets here on the forum. One day I'd like to try it, but haven't yet. Check them out they are interesting.
