Back in 1953 I worked at a summer camp in N Wisconsin
The camp was owned by a retired army captain so taps was played every night.
The last night the kids were there 3 of us hopped into canoes and paddled out into various locations on the water.
As the Official bugler began to play the next in line counted to 5 and then he joined in.
No I never heard how we sounded as I was #4 bugler and way across the lake but Cap Lorentz gave all of us a thank you well done the next mourning.
