Looking for a mold for .308 win bolt action 24" 1:12" twist

I've got a weatherby vanguard that I'd like to start casting for. Any suggestions on accurate, mid-weight gas-checked molds that are quite accurate? I wont shoot beyond about 200. Most will be in the 75-100yard plinking. When it's time to shoot a hog, I'll use commercial.

The XCB bullet has shown excellent performance in the 308 platform, and is also available from NOE:

It was designed very carefully for supreme accuracy, high velocity or both, and certainly does so. I have found it to be a forgiving and easy to use bullet that realizes a rifles potential very quickly.

Tom at Accurate Molds cataloges the hunting version of this bullet and it too has been a plug and play performer in everything I have tried it in.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to get in on the NOE deal... I have one NOE 9MM that I like. They seem quite well made.

looks like a great mid weight bullet .. love the rounded lube grooves.. bullets should drop out of mold easily

PS I would jump all over that accurate mold for hunting if it had the same rounded lube grooves

RCBS 30-180-SP. Works well in a Rem .308 VS, 12-twist.
It ain't rocket science, it's boolit science.

+1 on this NOE bullet. It has proven extremely accurate in my own .308Ws (3 bolt actions and an M1A so far). You won't go wrong with that bullet.

With your 12" twist rifle you can get excellent accuracy to under 1000 fps to as high as 2500 fps w/o much problems.

The accuracy and speed potential of the xcb noe boolit has been well documented.
At what speeds does the accuracy of the flatter nosed accurate molds version of this boolit start to fall off ?
Both boolits look great to me, but Tom's version may be a better choice for closer in hunting?

I missed the cutoff on the NOE, dang it. For giggles, until I get a GOOD mold, I ordered a Lee 309-170-F. I've read they drop around .310 for many users. I went ahead and ordered a .311 sizing die. I've got some oily grit I ordered some time ago to hone up a Lee .457-340 so it would drop to .460 for my .45-70. I may try the same here to get it to drop .311+ so I can size to .311.

Anyone size smaller than .311 with COWW for a bolt-action .308 gas checked with accuracy? I know too small is a major issue...

I'm going to try some low speed stuff - perhaps with unique, red dot, etc. from the Lyman cast handbook.

I couldn't chamber a 311 boolit in most of my 30 cal rifles without damaging the boolit itself.
my 1917 would take 311, but for sure not my 03A3, savage 0-6, 30xcb, 308 ruger, nor my AR-30 won't.
.310 usually makes scuff marks on the forward edge of the boolit in the ball seat area of the throat.
