Swaging some .510 from 45acp brass.

I'm wanting to build a set of swaging dies to make some 50 cal (.510) soft round nose bullets from 45 acp brass. I'm wondering if any of you guys have advice on how to do this. I need a bullet that ends up at 500grs. If 45acp brass does not work then I will use tubing. Thank you guys for any help you can provide. I can make any dies I need.

For 500gr 45acp case may not work due to length, unless you want something like 1/2 jacket bullet. You could use 308 family cases and cut them down to correct length. I will be doing this also when I make .500 diameter heavy bullets this summer.

The 45 ACP might not have enough case volume to fully enclose the lead in brass. However, I know you fire a LOT of cast lead in your guns. If you aren't worried about some lead nose showing, the 45 acp might lend a useful jacket, certainly cheaper than any tubing options.

I am also interested in a low cost tool option for the same .510 bullet diameter....

Ya lead nose is not an issue as I'm going to bond the core to the jacket. I just need a bullet that can handle around 2500-2700fps. I would most likely turn the rims off and give it an actual boat tale, give it a large soft nose. Bond the core and then heat treat the lead maybe.

I have some copper tubing .510 jackets that I made a few year ago and a lot of copper tubing if you are interested.
