I was cleaning out the reloading room today and ran across a number of cans of unopened 5744. Where can I find load info for cast bullets. I went to their website and found j-loads but no cast. Would it work for 32-40, 38-55, or 222?

Lyman's 4th Edition Cast Bullet Handbook lists loads with 5744 for all of these calibers with cast bullets.
I have found Accurate customer service to be very helpful with this kind of question.
Gun control is not about guns.
I load 5744 in 32.20 .45lc. 4570. It is an all round reduced load powder. Fills up the case, bulkier
Bill, what's your load using 5744 in .45 LC?
John,
Lee's #2 man has 5744 listed for the 240gr lead starting load of 16.5gr.
The 255 gr is listed at 16gr starting load

5744 has many applications for cast, as mentioned Lyman's 4th lists it often as the best load tested.

I've been using it since it first came out. Been chronographing it with everything it's been tried in. It is an amazingly consistent powder when looking at the velocities. It's actually my powder of choice for 40-65 and 32-20 and has been since day one for each of those.
In spite of the small velocity spreads there always seem to be a few unburned grains in the barrel. With the accuracy it gives, I learned to live with that.
5744 has gotten real expensive here $40+ per pound, too rich for my blood.

It's fabulous in my .25-36Marlin. 14.5gr with NOE 260-90fngc for 2,000fps and 2moa.
60.0gr in.300RUM w/180gr bullet for .300winmag duplication @3,000fps. Bought my bottle for $31.
Lee #2 has some Accurate reprinted data, also.

I also noticed it getting pricey. Wasn't bad until SR4759 was going out, imagine that......
5744 has worked its way into most of my Cast rifle loads.

.223 in my AR
It works well in my Gas driven semi autos. Wish it was cheaper, but it sure does perform.
Just look at what it works in. .223 all the way to big fat 45-70's
It does seem to be available any way. I buy a pound or two every time I see it at Fleet Farm.
That way I dont have to feel the sticker shock all at once.
I like 5744 for 45-70, 375 big bore, 357's and 300 Whisper - only issue is it isn't a clean burner - leaves kernals in the bore but doesn't affect accuracy so no big deal just don't tilt the barrel up to have them come tumbling back into the action.

somewhere on the Accurate website, I saw a page dedicated to 5744 load data.
I found it was great and kind of got hooked on it back when it was about $20. Once it was pushing $30, I substituted 2400, AA9, unique and herco in the cast bullet cartridges I was using it for and weaned myself off of it. Still a great powder but for example in 30-30, I was shooting it for about 1/3 less in powder cost over 5744.
