Looking for a Thompson Contender in .44 Rem Mag 10" Barrel

Been searching all over for a new (Old) Contender with a 10" .44 Rem. Mag., or .357 Mag. barrel. I Want a Generation 1 Contender. Really interested in ILSA shooting here in Central Florida. If anyone has any info on same I sure would appreciate a heads up.

Have you tried here http://www.encoreclassifieds.com/for...ex.php?t=index they also have contenders.
"People in Arizona carry guns," said Detective David Ramer, a Chandler police spokesman. You better be careful about who you are picking on...

I have a 12" Hunter barrel in 45-70 I bought from a member here that's yet to be fired by me! I look at that barrel & look at the rounds & wonder why I ever bought it! Lol! Gonna try some of my Trapdoor loads in it one of these days, but I can't imagine firing a stout Marlin round through it!

I had the 45/70 barrel too. Sold it. Firing with full power loads was like hitting an oak tree with a cracked baseball bat.

Either I am nuts, or must be using wimpy loads (Lyman 429421 with 10.0grs Unique), but I love my 10" .44 Mag barrel.
I passed my last psych eval, how bout you?

I have had a 10" 44mag barrel for nearly 30yrs and love it...as long as sane loads are used. I would rather shoot the hottest loads in a revolver.

I recently acquired a 10" contender barrel. I purchased a RCBS 240 gr. Silhouette mould and am currently trying to develop a load using this boolit. The first I loaded with 21.5 gr. of 296. The average velocity 10 feet from the muzzle was 1532 FPS. Like LUCKYDAWG13 said "hang on tight". I'm looking for something a little less punishing, but still accurate enough for rams at 100 meters. I'm open to suggestions. Thanks,

    1Iron
