Hodgdon H-108

Gentlemen:
I was digging around in my powder magazine today and found two 8lb jugs of Hodgdon H-108 that I had forgotten were in there. I bought this from Powder Valley back in the late 90's.

I looked for load data that I thought I had, but that was not to be found.
Does anyone have any data sheets for this powder they would be willing to share? Barring any result here I'll have to go to Hodgdon and see if they have anything.

same powder as wc820 or aa9 buring speed may vary lot to lot so start out with starting loads for aa9 and youll be fine.

Lloyd: Thank you for the reply. I have since found out that AA 4100 is also the same or very close. I have a jug of that around also. I guess I need to start working with my 401, 41 & 44 magnums more....G

makes sure when cross referencing loading data between these powders that you use starting loads. Lot to Lot variations can be more then usual and in some cases ALOT more then usual. I think that's why some think there totally different powders.

Yes Sir, always do. Been in this game since 1966 and no mishaps yet. This powder shortage has forced a lot of handloaders to look to lesser known powders. I find needing to do that both interesting and enjoyable and it can't help but broaden ones knowledge.....G

I often wondered why hogdon never commercialized that powder and added it to there lineup like accurate arms did with #9. Its proably the best all around magnum pistol powder made. Id bet if they did it would have sold as well as h110. Especially with the hogdon name on it. I still know loaders who shy away from surplus and still consider accurate arms as nothing but a surplus dealer which at one time is what they were.

It's either lot #47320 or 47321. H108 was wc820. Excellent magnum pistol powder.
