There has to be an easy way

It is seldom needed but at times I need to change the height of the lube holes in a sizing die.
Tonight it took me 45 minutes to dig out the old pieces of lead shot and plug up the open ones to change the lube height.
I used a small drill bit and a piece of wire to remove the shot. I have heated and melted the shot out in previous attempts( I would not recommend this solution).
What is your trick to remove the shot and fill the holes on a Star sizing die?

Some people use a dental pick to get at it from the inside, to poke the shot out of the hole.

I get a bit the size of the outside hole or smaller and drill out the lead shot to put it back in the I take a piece of shot and put on the hole and gently hit it with a small hammer it drives it in and before I put the shot in I take a paper clip and make sure the small hole is clear D Crockett

Some folks buy dies that match the bullet they are using, 1 set of holes for every groove. If you use something like dental picks to remove shot, you can raise burrs on the inside of the die, that will appear as scratches on the side of the bullets. They can be buffed out though.

Occasionally, I have been lucky! If you are livin right and hold your tongue just so, you may be able to let the boolit base or if the driving bands are wide enough use them to "plug" the un needed lube holes. I have done this with a few different mould / boolit combos And have had good results.
