    40 pound casting pot

RCBS makes a fine pot. I love it. The Magma pot is also nice. It is not so ergonomic as the RCBS one, but a 40 pount capacity is really, really nice. It is enough for most every cast session. You rarely need to refill it exept between sessions. Its downside is the price.

I have a friend that has a shop. I have approached him about making a 40 pound melting pot that would be similar to the magma pot, but with some improvements like a better sight line to the spout on the bottom and an RCBS style mold guide that is easier to adjust.

We are looking at a price point of around $400 dollars with about another $100 for a pid controller built in as an option. We are not offering these at this price yet, as we have not made a prototype, but this is just an exploratory post to see what the interest would be like for such a pot at this price point. If there is strong interest, we will proceed to development.

So if this sounds like something you would buy if we offer it, just post that you are interested. But please only post if you really think you would buy one. Also, any ideas you have for making a better pot I would be interested in.

I'm interested at the $400.00 price point. Of course that is subject to change with the proposed and final designs, but I am interested at this time.

An optional 2 hole spout like the Magma would be nice.

Yes, interested. Would it be possible to offer a pot for dipping, with no bottom pour at a lower price? Either way, I am interested.

Very interested at the $400 mark. So long as you would post to the UK.

Good line of sight as on the Pro Melt is important to me.

Yes, I was thinking of doing both 110 and 240.

How much for a dedicated ladle pot? No spout should make it a bit cheaper and easier to produce.
You will learn far more at the casting, loading, and shooting bench than you ever will at a computer bench.

A Magma 1500 watt 40 pound pot melts a full pot in about 30 minutes.

I would like to see at least a schematic of it before I say yes.

I am sure there would be a good market for a $400 pot as you describe.
I have several already but would certainly consider another once you finalize the design and produce a prototype!

I am about to get another pot. Will be a Master Pot, if you guys make a comparable pot, at a better price, will reconsider that purchase. How much time are we talking?

I don't think it will take very long once we decide there is enough interest to proceed. I want one of these myself.
