Exclamation "Welcome to Fabulous LasVegas NV"

Just found out that I will be visiting my little brother in Vegas at the end of March!!! While he has lived there for a while I was wondering if the folks here could suggest some stuff we could plan to do/ places to see/ food to eat/ "watering holes" to visit...

I'm not super entranced by the strip, having been there once before, and I'm already hoping to go to Valley Of Fire National Park...

What should I be expecting for weather (seasonally- I'm from MN where it'll be -5 to 32 above and can snow a dozen inches if it wants to in April...)

    Thanks for any suggestions!

The Hoover dam tour is pretty cool. Go early to avoid the crowds. Red Rocks is also a fun place to go if you want to rock climb or just scramble on the rocks.

probably 60's in the daytime, but it can be cold at night take at least a jacket.

I usually hang out on Fremont street more than the strip at night.
you can go to the Shelby museum, it's out by the Luxor and is good for an hour or so.
    it's free too.
the mob museum is just off fremont street parallel to the I-93/95 but they want 20 bucks.
the neon museum is halfway between fremont and the stratosphere on the north side they want a donation too.
the Dam is nice, you can wander around the top and such for free but the tour is 30.00
you also get to see the DHS at work [snicker] they have no sense of humor b.t.w.
there is a little restaurant right on the main road in the little town [boulder] which is great for breakfast and lunch they have some pretty good pie there too.

there is a bass-pro shop and a sportsmans warehouse, the bass pro is out south in I-15,
and sportsmans is northwest of town on hwy 93 on ANN st.
you can also go shoot machine guns at a few places in town, the signs are everywhere.
they'll also deliver ammo to your hotel room if you call the right place,,,,

drinks in the tourist areas are super high priced, the food is reasonable in most places.

Stop in TI and eat at Cahounaville. Great food, plenty of it and the price is right. Maggiano's is probably my fav place to eat, 2nd floor in front on the Fashion Show Mall, order the lasagna. There are some good shows you can buy tickets for at all halp-price stands along the Strip. Shows are all the that day

How long are you going to be there?

I would take a ride up to Mt Charleston and Kyle Canyon. It is a different world up there so high and in the forest. Afterwards take a ride over to Valley of Fire State park and walk around. It would be a loop trip easily done after a leisurely breakfast and back well before dinner. You will get the full range of the outdoors that makes Nevada such an interesting place, not just the big city playground. It is dumping snow at the ski area on Mt. Charleston today.

If you can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke, avoid any casino or restaurant that is part of a casino. I suspect that the real reason that they blow up the old casinos to make a new one is that it would cost more to get rid of that smell than it does to just build a new casino. It's probably next to impossible to get that smell out of a building after it has been soaking in it for 30-40 years.

You can drive on the west side along Red Rock Canyon road that is pretty scenic.

Cheapest entertainment in Vegas is at the race track, they generally have something going on every most weekends.

If you were staying longer, pharump is just a short drive, and you can get good cheap gun training at Front sight. I'm sure many members here have training certificates for two and four day classes. According to front sight rules, we may not advertise the certificates for sale on social media.

But, I would go check out Hoover dam and lake Meade, go to Binons see a millon dollars, and get a show in. It's been too long for me to recommend which casino to eat in. There is (was?) a little museam out by Henderson. If you have never fired an automatic weapon, several gun store rent them (ain't cheap). Walk carson street, and drive the strip. Use to be a large bass pro on the west side of town. That will eat up your weekend.

Down in Henderson, there is a restaurant called Nacho Daddy that is pretty good.

My favorite little hole down there is the Four Kegs, the best pizza and Stromboli in town, and the coldest beer in the world!

While you are there see if they still have postcards of me and Girty there.

I am sure they have removed all of the neon signs we posed for tho.

I'll tell you right up front if it's been over 10 yr since you were there you might recognize the strip down in it but the rest is all new. There is only about 7-8 min between the burbs and Primm and the reservation to the north touches North Las Vegas as does Henderson and Boulder city.

On the lighter side Vegas has everything you could want to do.
I've seen 80s in March but even now it's still the desert and Temps drop with sunset and can get easily into the low 40 even with an 80 degree day.
