    50 cent stock removal tool

Here is a nice little tool for removing buttstocks without slipping off the screw head or the bolt. Brownell's sells something like this for about a hundred bucks but this works just fine and cost just 50 cents and a little time. The rod is from an old baby bed frame and the rest of the material came from a junk box at a yard sale. The screwdriver end is just brazed to the shank and a t handle brazed on. The centering guides are cut to a tight slip fit on the driver shank and there are several in different sizes to match up with whatever stock you are dealing with. The delrin for the guides was part of a spacer rod from the same junk box. I do have almost a 1/2 hour into turning the guides and brazing the darn thing together but so far it works just as good as the Brownells tool. Click image for larger version.

Nice! I'll double your money and buy it from you for a buck! Lol. You could get way more for it than that.

I just wrap some electrical tape around a screwdriver until it just fits... same idea, but this is a lot nicer.
