Very nice! I've always been a sucker for the tang safety Rugers.

Thanks Doc. Anyone know the twist of these rifles off the top of you head?

The 257 should be 1/10 and the 22-250 should be 1/14. I have three tang safety Rugers one in 358 win, one in .270 and one in 22-250.

I can't wait to shoot this one. I think this one will just get J words. I'll keep it as is. Just like my uncle Al had it.

Congrats on a classic rifle and a classic cartridge!

I found a good deal on a barrel fits Savage bolt guns in the Roberts cartridge last year. Even with three .25-06's ........ I still found the .257 Roberts to have a place here!

If the trigger pull is unsatisfactory to you in your 257 Ruger tang safety, Rifle Basix makes a trigger sear for it. Cost is around $45 and places like Midway sells it. This is not a complete trigger assembly. Put one in my Ruger tang safety that I'd had a heavy barrel installed in 7x57. Made a big difference in the pull. By the way, found a Ruger Hawkeye 257R in a clearance rack a couple of years ago. I couldn't resist buying it, dispite owning 3 other 257 Roberts rifles at the time.
