    old Star Lubricator Sizer ... pre-patent 1935-ish ?

got this at a gun show a while back...
a member suggested I post pics and see what you all thought of it.
it's similar to CR Peterson's patent drawings, but without the "Pat Pending" or brass tag.
it has several parts which look to have been replaced by more modern parts which
are more like the parts on Star's "Illustration and Parts List" diagram than the Patent drawing.
    Thanks,
    -fred

Maybe. The one I have (that does not make me an expert) has a brass plaque riveted to the base with the Star name. Coupleother minor differences also.

Hope someone chimes in who has seen more of the square base Star's than I.

    Hello Ken,
Yessir it would be great to know more of the history. Personally I do restorations on antique ironwork, I have quite a pile of it.
Yours is very interesting, reading the old thread in starreloader forum was what gave me a clue that this one was kinda special, and that thread was how I came to hear of and register on the ARTCA forum.
I really appreciate yours and Bruce's experienced opinions, in the end as he summed up " I guess we will never know ".
    Thanks,
    Fred
