Do you like your bean soup with beans?

    Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Got to thinking about a batch of bean soup last night so I went to the cupboard and grabbed a bag of 15 bean mix. I opened it up and poured it into a large pot and filled the pot with good old water so that the beans could soak 12 hrs or more. Went to the store this morning and I picked up some pork parts and a sausage ring. Went home and started with the making of it. Five or six shots of the clear stuff and I had put together a good bean soup. Only thing left to do was go down stairs and start loading ammunition. Just finished several bowels of it and to my surprise the wife even commented that it was tasty.

    Picture of soup in bowel.

I found a rock in my bean soup the hard way years ago. I then examined the packaging, lo and behold there was a warning that every bean must be carefully inspected to insure there was no "foreign matter" present. I no longer chew bean soup

Looks great and I'd eat it.
It would give me the wind something fierce.

It's not a question of whether I like beans in a bean soup!

It's a question of whether the beans are going to like ME!

I just try to be outside the day after a big feast like that! ....... and as a Rancher ... if the cows don't run off ....... I guess all's fair!

Looks like a great bean soup.

Only problem is when some people call it 'chili'.

Good stuff this time of year. I decided my blackeyed pea recipe needed work so I made some last weekend, came across a package of assorted beans. May have been 15, dunno. It goes in the pot next, your recipe sounds good.

Thank you for leaving out the description of getting a camera in place for the "bowel shot".
An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. "Inside me two wolves fight," he told the boy.
"One is evil - he is anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, lies, false pride, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, generosity, truth and faith. The same fight is inside you - and every other person, too."
The grandson thought for a minute and asked,"Which wolf will win?"
The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

I was going to make my bean soup without beans, but couldn't think what to call it, so made pork and sausage soup instead.
