Here is a link to previous 9mm bullets I made from 223rem brass. It shows the JHP BTX (Hornady XTP copy) option. This was with a set of CH improved dies as I recall as the date of the thread goes back to 2012. You can see the difference in the nose profiles.

Just put together another set of these 9mm dies with necessary tooling to make perfect 9mm bullets from the cut off top of scrap 223 rem brass.

Process is very easy, cut the neck of the 223 case off then cut it again at specified length. Use a 92 grain 32 cal cast boolit for the core, push both core and cut brass into the core seat die where it rounds the ends of the brass to form the base of the bullet and jacket, then simply swage final bullet shape in point form die. You are left with perfect JHP 110 grain 9mm bullets at very little cost. Save the bottom half of the cut 223 scrap brass to use for 358-375 jackets or sell them to other swagers in need.

Also works perfectly using same cast boolit for a core in commercial jackets.

I have two of these die sets available and will list in the S&S forums. Send me a PM for details or questions.

I wanted to update my 9mm swaged bullet report.
I went from eager enthusiasm to fanatical pleasure with the 9mm bullet swaging.

Immediately after receiving Brian's swage die set, I went to work finessing the process. Fortunately I already had a pretty neat fixture for the HF cut off saw, and so chopping 223 Rem brass into jackets was a simple process. And, I was able to use my existing 30 cal core mold to make the cores. My only needed to make tool was a bottom holder for the RockChucker ram which would hold the angled jacket and core, and allow me to stuff the cores. After trying some variations of 38 special brass case with some lead inside, PeeWee made us a turned aluminum piece to hold the parts while the cores got stuffed. Works perfect. I will take a picture of it later, and post that.

To date, we have manufactured about 1,000 125 grain 9mm bullets, and have plans for making many, many more. Between my 9mm hand guns, and also my 357 Sig carry gun (357 Sig is a 40 caliber case, necked down to shoot a 9mm bullet), there's a ton of need for these 9's. I actually haven't bought a 9mm bullet in months now. Other than a few used in my reloading classes, I probably won't ever need to buy any again.

So, thanks Brian, for another success!

    Brian,
I got the dies this afternoon. They sure are sweet. I've made about 200 bullets. The 32 mold casts a little light, (88 gr) but they point up real nice. Now I need to get several boxes loaded up and head to the range and try them out. But if they soot as good as they look, they'll all be bullseyes!
Thanks a bunch, and you will be getting a few more orders from me, COUNT ON IT!

Your welcome! Glad you like them. How many grain difference was the cast boolits you cast from the ones I sent you? I used the 93 grain 6 cavity mold. Don't know if there is a difference between it and your 2 cavity? It would be simple to bore out the lube groove of the mold a little to increase weight of core.

    Keep us posted.

    Good shooting and swage on!

p.s. I'll stop by PO today and check for package.

My mold came in at 88 gr. And oddly enough, the core came perfectly to the end of the jacket. There were a couple that were a grain or so light and those showed a little less lead at the meplat, but still VERY nice looking bullets. I made a little over 200, now to load'm up and give them a try. In a few weeks I'll have another order for you!

Here are the pictures of the special bottom punch/holder PeeWee made to facilitate the step where the bottom of the preform is pointy:
