1.- take that poor old rusty press apart.
2.- give it a bath.
3.- the rust dissolves.
4.- lube and reassemble.
same for rusty gun parts, tools, hardware...
Thanks,
Fred

On rusty gun parts I would assume it also removes the bluing?
I've seen it at menards(like home depot) and walmart.
Can you reuse the liquid or is it a one and done kinda deal?

got mine at Home Depot, here's a link should show other stores

Reusable says a gallon will keep working till it's collected 1/4-lb of rust
Lol I wonder how much I would have needed to dunk my last truck in it. There was at least 700 lbs of rust by the time I sold it for parts.
If you think your a hammer everything looks like a nail.
I presume it leaves the surfaces from which the rust was removed pitted or otherwise smaller in dimension than before the rest occurred?
Or is it a thin-enough layer of rust that it doesn't impact operation? I'd think there'd be a looseness to fit after something like this, at least between parts which are joined.
Mongoose33... I believe the iron in mild carbon steel oxidizes to rust at the ratio of 1:6, so, if left unchecked the buildup would create 6x more fit issues that it's removal, buildup between idle parts will push them apart, between regularly moving parts will only build up to the clearance between the parts. Removing 6-thousandths of rust leaves a surface deterioration of 1-thousandth.
