When ever I take off an old buttpad from a gun and replace it with a new one i save the old pad. They can be cut and sanded to just about any shape and if they still have some rubber to them they make excellent sanding pads. I have them cut into shapes for getting into fine corners and for sanding special shapes. Just spray them with adhesive and push them down on sandpaper. I shape them on the disk sander or round them concave or convex for stock work.
