From what I gather, any electrostatic powdercoat gun does a fine job. The one from Amazon/Ebay doesn't require a compressor and seems to be the handiest, but I only have the one from Harbor Freight and it does a wonderful job, if you already have a compressor.

I use both the HF gun and the Amazon gun. HF needs compressor, reg, hose......stuff most of us already have anyway. "A" gun is self contained. Some call this the Craftsman gun but sears dropped their design of it years ago due to high $$ and several technical problmes. My "A" gun works perfectly. Eastwood makes a more pro gun line that some use, but they are rather pricy.

Any of them are better than BBDT for "work everytime", quality of finish, and coating thickness control.

Maybe it's some sort of physical attribute regarding static (or electricity in general) that some people have and others do not. 'Ever know those people who claim they can't wear a watch, because they'll short it out or it'll stop working quickly? I dunno..... it remains a mystery. I can't get dry tumble to work here but 1 out of a dozeną tries, and ol' Skizzums (member from nearby in GA) can get great boolits every time, and we have the same weather/humidity.

It's just that crimson tide problem you have down there, that's all.

And you'd think all that hot air coming from them would lower the humidity!

I use the HF gun but just for HV rifle. HiTek coating for everything else, so much easier. Gonna load the gold in the 300AAC this morning to test. If that works, on to the 308, then 30/30.
    Whatever!

I use the HF gun. Picked it up and sprayed. Never had any problems. (other than the bullets melting in my oven but that wasn't the guns fault!) For me I found it extremely simple and straightforward.
