After all these years I'll have a scary black rifle.
For a drop-in barrel it will be octagonal to round and fit a smaller set of clamps.
Might use the quick disconnect mounts to make cleaning easier.
Will try out the .50 barrel today as is.
Reckon the question is going to be just how much of a precision shooter the rifle can become.
The pistol scope is a 2x7 so with the right barrel it will be up to me, not the gun.

Update...
Work (a four letter word that ends with K) intervened and the rifle never got sent off for the smaller caliber conversion and the .388" maxi and .386"minie molds and bullets are still sitting here.
With .490 ball and ticking it makes a hole where ever the cross hairs rest. I should try it out with fifty cal REAL's and hollow bases.
A longer barrel would be nice but scary black rifles are supposed to have short barrels. Maybe can find a fifty minie shaped something like #575213.
