Who sells Powder coated Boolits?

Just like to know where a person can buy them.

This is mostly a diy proposition, and is cheap. Why do you want to buy them? This is a casting forum so it just is a strange question to ask. But, here are a few I just found real quick on google.

Members can't sell them to you unless they have a type 06 FFL and are registered with ITAR through the state department so if you are fishing for cheap boolits here you will have no luck unless you get some stuff and try it yourself. Some great info here on how to get started cheap. I would start with the dry tumble air soft bb method in a cool whip container.

Not looking to buy any. I would just like to know who is producing them for sale. I have never seen them listed for sale at any of my suppliers. If i were looking to buy I would have listed this in Swappin & Sellin. Thanks and sorry for asking a question.

The ATF recognizes modyifing brass ie 5.56 to 300 blk and selling cast bullets for profit as manufacturing falling into the same classification as ammo manufacturing.

If you continue with that though you will eventually end up in prison if you put it into practice for yourself. Selling boolits requires an FFL, and registration with the state department ITAR.

I had not heard anything about converting brass. Where did you get this information? Brass once manufactured and sold is no longer controlled for individual sale inside of the united states from what I understand. It wont make a difference if it is converted or not.

Grey area means it is not against the law, and there are no cases. His analogy to it being the same as primed brass is wrong, and there have been no cases of arrest regarding converting and selling brass. Typical BATF bully tactic to tell you that over the phone. Until there is a written determination that the act of converting brass, and then (re)-selling it requires a FFL and hence ITAR I would not be looking over your shoulder. BATF thinks grey area means they can make law as they go, and as things develop they can say it is law. That is not the case, and laws are determined through a process that includes congressional approval. I am not a lawyer, but I have to deal with them regarding class III items. There ambiguity is there for a reason, but over the last few years has blown up in their face. They are in the midst of several high profile cases right now due to mishandling of pre-existing case law, and sudden re-interpretation. They have lost all of these cases in the past, and I imagine they will be slapped again. If any government agency needs to be disassembled it is the BATF.

I believe this whole thing about selling cast boolits nonsensical, but since they have it on the books we have to follow the law. Jules, this process is still relatively new, and I do not think you will find coated bullets in any large retailer like Midway for example for a few more years. Not trying to be nasty to you, just stating the obvious and trying to help. I did find another vendor selling coated bullets this morning, and these are real cheap! Almost makes it worthwhile to buy vs cast if you don't already have your equipment. The are selling coated boolits for as low as 35$ for 500. I have no clue of the legality of selling a piece of lead that happens to be in the shape of a bullet.

Hi Jules,

Most would consider Dillon Precision to be a well known supplier of reloading products - mostly presses but also some bullets including carrying SNS cast bullets. These use a Hi-Tek coating. Not technically the dry powder coating process used by many here but definitely one of the first major suppliers I have seen carrying coated cast bullets.
