    358 win. AR-10

Ive wanted one of these for a while and now that AR10 parts are becoming more reasonably priced, it's time to start on one. Does anyone know where I can get a 358 barrel? I've tried a google search without much luck. Surely, I cant be the only one that wants a 358 AR. Maybe the best option is to have a 308 barrel rebored?

Check with Krieger, Lilja, or any of the barrel maker making both custom barrels and AR barrels. They may countor and time one to ar specs for you. Other wise it means finding a smith willing to time in the port hole and barrel extension with the correct contour that you want.

I think the cheapest way would be to take a 308 barrel and mail it to JES. You won't like the price of a 358 barrel, if you can find one. Complete 358 uppers are available, but again, hold on to your wallet.

I will second that. CMMG used to make one, but now they only offer barrels in .243,.260, and .308. I have been thinking of getting one of those .260 barrels. I am suprised Black Hole Weaponry does not offer a 358 barrel. They have a ton of AR 15 wildcat offerings.

That would be one fine gun! I think that an AR-10 .358 Win would be the best brush gun you can get. Just my own humble opinion. But I would love to have one.

I would have reservations about usung the .358 Win in a Rapid Fire Semi Auto.
The .358 has a very narrow shoulder on the case, and under rapid firing, it might have a headspacing issue.
I could be wrong. But it is something worth considering.

The 358 Win. headspaces much better than the .35 Rem case. I'm not aware of head spacing issues with the .35 Rem in auto rifles like the Remington Model 8 ?

Remington made their 7400 series auto rifles in 35 Whelen, a cartridge with a similar head spacing arrangement as the 358 Win.

I would assume that if Remington thought the head space issue would have created problems with the proper functioning of the .35 Whelen that they would have never produced an auto loading rifle for the cartridge.

ID:	145478 I happen to be building a 358win ar upper as we speak. It's a 10.5" barrel but it's being pinned to 16" untill my sbr tax stamp is approved. After that will be the suppressor. Size comparison next to my 18" 308 match barrel. Should be posting videos of it running this weekend.

You will not have any trouble with the shoulder until you get to .400

I will ask my neighbor that works for Armalite if they can produce a AR-10 chambered in 358 Win.

That would be great. I am sure there are many here that simply have not posted that would be greatly interested in an AR Platform in 358 Winchester as it has been discussed many times over the years including myself lol. But a 18"-20" barrel would be preferred. And of course in a 1-14 twist and a groove of .349-.350--.358

I have looked into a few in the past but they were prohibitively expensive. Or to say far more expensive than a 338.

    Zombie thread a bit.

I just picked up a dpms pattern 358 winchester barrel from KAK Industries. I ordered a 16", but they also have 10.5 and 19" options.
