The 311359 with 11.5 gr of 2400 is my carbine load. I've shot a couple hundred through it in a sitting with nary a wisp of lead build up on the gas cylinder. Functions perfectly and with my old eyes get anywhere for a 2-4" group at 50 yards.

I have shot thousands of Lyman 311359 in a carbine and it is great boolit.
My 311359 is a SC so I tried several other multi cavity molds.
I am now using the NOE 311 115 that I think is the best yet.
You can hardly go wrong with most slow pistol powders.
H110/296 was developed for ball rounds in the M1 carbine and that was what I used until I bought some surplus WC820.
13.5 grs with the NOE boolit is working great....dale

Well, I read a lot of recommendations on boolet molds and purchased a Lyman 311359 off of FleaBay and it will be here next week. And then I can try some loads of H110, Hercules 2400 and the T-680 I have and see what I can do with it. Got two boxes of gas checks already for it and the LAM-II is all set up and ready to go. But of course deer season is all over so I can't try it out on deer this year.

    Mine is an early Inland.

I have not seen anyone here on this thread suggest hunting deer with an M1 ........ and can add ....... it would only make sense in a life or death survival setting.

So, you agree then since I am in a life-or-death struggle with the deer eating all of my soy beans that an M1-Carbine with the Lyman 311359 would make a good Combine Gun during harvesting soy beans in the Fall? I got my mold so I need to hit the casting shop and get some ready for loading. Now that I have suggestions for loads.

Accurate's 31-125D is designed for the .30 carbine and cycles nicely with 6 grains of Unique, 11 grs. of #2400 or 14 grs. of 4198.

+1. I've been using the 311359 in the M1 Carbine since '69. I've used 2400 and H4227 and even some old Alcan #8 powders but years ago settled on H110 also.....and 13.5 gr is indeed the magic number! Cast of COWWs = 2% tin mine run right at 1890 fps and my "shooter" puts 15 of them (a mag full) into 2.5 - 2.3" at 100 yards all day long. The wife loves popping clays, then the chips, clods and rocks on the 100 yard berm with it.

I use an assortment of cast and jacketed with it. For small game up[ through coyote I prefer the 313631 SWC HP'd over 15 gr H110 or the 311316 FN HP'd over 13.5 gr H110. The Hornady 90 gr XTP over 16 gr H110 for 2100+ fps has supplanted my longtime favorite serious social load using the Hornady or Speer 100 gr HJs.

I've had great results with the Lee 120gr GC and H110. 1" at 50yds with 12.8grs.

It's easy to PC..my only problem is I can not find a 4 cavity mold... Have to run 2 - 2 cavities to keep up with the kids demand ..
+1 on this combo as a plinking load.

I've used the lee 120 gr gc and 12 or so grains of AA2400, 9-11 grains AA#9, and similar loads with H110. all shoot well and cycle reliably

What OAL are you using with the Lee 120gr boolit?

I concur re L 311359GC mould! Another "great one" (to me) is the Hensley and Gibbs #250. Also a GC mould, my boolits come out of this one at 110 grains, 'though H&G listed it at 113 gr.
    BEST!

I like the 311-465--I got one of the 4 cavity NOE molds from a group buy a couple years back, and have had a 2 cavity Lyman for quite a while. I use either 12 grains of 2400 or 13.0 grains of H-110 for the best results from my Inland. I haven't loaded any in a couple of years though. I need to hunt up my dies and correct this problem!

We've never moved past H110 and Lee's 120 GC bullet - works great in the 2 carbines we shoot. still using up tumble lubed, Lyman #2 alloyed bullets with GC's, sized .309. have several PC'd but My son have about 600 tumble lubed to load and shoot first.

I bought the Lee C309-120 R for use in the 30 Carbine and it worked quite well. Dad bought a SAECO 321 95gr for use in the M1 Carbine back in the mid 70s, but never actually cast from it. Last year I cast a bunch, PCd and shot them over 13 grains of IMR 4227. Plain based, they chugged along at 1650 fps, full functioning and lock back on the last shot. They still bark like the dickens out of the Ruger BlackHawk. Now it is time to top off all the brass with copper colored boolits.
