    Winchester 1895 .405 Winchester question

Have a Williams receiver sight on my 1895 so I removed the factory rear sight
I would like to fill in the dovetail slot for the factory rear sight. Does anyone know where I can purchase a dovetail filler?

Thanks, found the part but with the shipping charge alone being over $15 found the same thing on Ebay for just under $13 shipped.
If anyone else is interested it is called a Lyman 12S dovetail filler.

    Good morning
At many Gunshows up north there, there will be vendors with old rear sights from all types of rifles. I buy the old Marbles rear sites with the plan to cut off the long end to match the short end. Or just cut both ends off parallel with the dovetail. Round the cut corners as you like.
These work well for fillers and I do not pay more than $3 for them. Yes it takes a little work but it is to me time well spent with my saws and files and a little blue applied.

I've been using the very nice diamond shaped one that Brownells sells...much classier than a slot filler...Bob

    .

As I posted earlier (my post has mysteriously disappeared), it's E-Z-peazy to file up a fancy slot filler blank using the male dovetail section of just about any take-off longleaf rear barrel open/iron sight.

I cut off most of the longleaf and file the stub to mirror whatever contour the front of the male section has, then cold blue the result.
