    M41 Carcano coming

As the title says I have a 1942 carcano 6.5 M41 on the way.
    What works in these rifles?
The Lee 6.5 swede mold works with some beagling I suppose?
After I slug the bore to find its size of course.

My Lee 6.5 Swede casts big enough, but the long length makes it tricky to find a load that stabilizes and is accurate. I have just started working with the NOE 270 134 gr 6.5 Kurtz. It is a much better option IMO.

I haven't tried any cast in mine, but the .268 jacketed that Hornady sometimes makes works well.

I have used the .268 Hornady with good results. I like the NOE 269-167gr FN that I have been casting much better.

The Lee mold is inexpensive but after some reading it sounds like the wrong choice for these rifles. I should have it tomorrow and I will slug the bore and make a mold decision then.

    Pictures! We need pictures!

I've never seen, let alone handled a real live Carcano so my interest here is high. I considered buying one online once.

It slugs out at .2675 so I ordered an NOE 268134 mold for it.
LGS had Hornady .268 bullets but I thought it was too pricey at $65/100.
i ordered Prvi brass for it already and a couple of extra clips for it.
Lee 2 die set waiting for pickup at the border.
Need to order some gas checks and a case length gauge as well.

Nice looking rifle. The nice thing about the M41 is they have a real rear sight and no gain twist. Easier to aim and find a load for.

Had I waited a week I could have saved $12.00 on my mold
